Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart revealed they were surprised by the Mikal Bridges Trade
Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart said they were surprised when the Knicks traded for Mikal Bridges, bringing the Knicks’ total number of former Villanova players to four.
Working with Bridges was something that Brunson and Hart had openly toyed with, but never thought would actually happen.
“I never thought it would happen because when was the last time the Nets made a trade with the Knicks?” Brunson said on The Roommate Show. “When we saw each other after the games, everyone was like, ‘Oh these guys are recruiting.’ I was like, it’s not going to happen.”

That’s where Hart comes in.
“You don’t really think it’s going to happen but you’re like, let me get dirty on Mikhal because that’s my boy,” Hart said. “And then the Nets fans just say random things all the time, so it was kind of funny for the Nets.”
Along with fellow Knick Donte DiVincenzo, Brunson, Hart and Bridges won the 2016 NCAA National Championship together.
Those same guys (minus Hart) won another national title together in 2018.
This thing about them all ending up on the same NBA team is so crazy that even they don’t believe it.
To get Bridges, the Knicks gave up Bojan Bogdanovic, Mamadi Diakite, Shake Milton, four unprotected first-round picks, an unprotected pick swap, a top-four first-round pick, and an unprotected second-round pick.
