Anthony Joshua’s September 21 undercard: Featuring Jai Opetaia and more

Anthony Joshua’s undercard for his next fight on September 21 at Wembley Stadium will feature some exciting fights for the fans. Joshua’s main opponent could be Daniel Dubois if the IBF heavyweight title is up for grabs in this fight.

Jai Opetaia: Features Cruiserweight Champ

According to Boxing Insider Dan Rafael at X, these are some of the possible fights/names on Anthony Joshua’s undercard on September 21 at Wembley:

– Jai Opetaia
– Hamzah Sheeraz
– Joshua Buatsi vs. Willy Hutchinson
– Fabio Wardley vs. Fraser Clarke 2

So far, Opetaia is the dominant champion on Joshua’s September 21 undercard, but we’ll see what additional fights are added before then.

Opetaia (25-0, 19 KOs) recently won the vacant IBF cruiserweight title last month on May 18, defeating Mairis Briedis via a twelve-round unanimous decision in their rematch at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

It was another tough fight for the 28-year-old Opetaia, who jumped out to an early lead but then struggled with the pressure Briedis put on him in the championship round.

Middleweight Hamzah Sheeraz (20-0, 16 KOs) recently stopped Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams in the eleventh round on June 1 for the WBC 160-lb title.

Since that fight, Sheeraz has expressed interest in fighting #3 WBC Chris Eubank Jr., which would appeal to the British domestic audience but not so much to fans outside the UK.

American fans would prefer to see Sheeraz challenge for a world title against WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames, IBF/WBO champion Janibek Alimkhanuly or WBA belt holder Erislandy Lara. However, I don’t think Sheeraz, 25, is ready for either of those champions, and he might be better off fighting Eubank Jr., 34, than being pinned by one of them.

Eddie Hearn: The Best Undercard The World Has Ever Seen

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, told IFL TV that undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue will not be on the September 21 card. “If things go the way we’re all planning right now, it’s going to be the best card the country has ever seen,” Hearn said. .

It would be a good card if Hearn matched Joshua with Daniel Dubois, but that might be too much to hope for. Dubois is dangerous, young, energetic and ambitious. You have everything wrong with Joshua.
