Naomi Osaka again Zheng Qinwen they met in the round of 16 in Rome last month, when the Chinese star defeated Osaka 6-2, 6-4. They will meet again next week on the grass in Berlin, in the first round.
Sixth-seeded Zheng will face Osaka for the third time overall – the pair split those meetings with Osaka coming in three sets in San Jose in 2022.
Coco Gauff takes his place at the top of the draw, with Aryna Sabalenka seed No.2 and Elena Rybakina of the third generation.
The top four seeds get a bye in Berlin.
