Teofimo Lopez to Haney: Put Garcia back together or move on

Teofimo Lopez, who is the WBO light welterweight champion, advised Devin Haney to reunite with Ryan Garcia if he felt he was “cheated” because of his Ostarine drug test.

Teofimo says Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) was beaten, and needs to move on or take a rematch with Garcia to redeem himself.

Haney’s Response to Loss

Since the loss, Haney has been focused on having his loss expunged by the New York State Athletic Commission, talking about wanting to take a 1-2 year break from boxing and suing Ryan Garcia.

None of these things will change fans’ opinions about what happened to Haney. For the fans who follow this match they will look at Haney’s new undefeated record with a star, and look at it as a man to lose.

Casual fans won’t care. They will look to see if Haney is entertaining and winning fights, he will come up short if he chooses to face someone who is talented at 140 or 147.

Teofimo’s challenge

“Whether it’s a low dose of Ostarine or not, Devin Haney got your **whooped. Go ahead. If you feel like you’ve been cheated, fight him again, do it again,” said Teofimo Lopez on the Danza Project.

So what Teofimo suggests is that Haney stop complaining about Ryan Garcia’s good reviews, and focus his energy on getting a rematch with him to show the fans that he was the best player of all time.

Showing Weakness?

By complaining and dragging this out with Ryan’s PED test, Haney is showing weakness in the eyes of the fans, playing the victim, and now showing a brave, hero-type personality that people look up to.

Boxing is a war and it looks bad on Haney’s part to show weakness by complaining about an opponent on the battlefield and using tactics to win. Leaving the best players to complain about the team they play with seems weak and Haney needs to find a clue about this.
