Warner Music partners with STYNGR for ad-free radio for Roblox

Following the launch of “Boombox” with Universal Music Group earlier this year, STYNGR, a music streaming platform, has partnered with Warner Music Group to offer ad-free radio stations directly within Roblox.

A new offering, called “Batteries,” works as a purchasable in-game item that powers STYNGR’s Boombox product.

Now, STYNGR offers two battery options with its partnership Warner Music Group: Single Listening Batteries offering weekly updated radio stations for your personal enjoyment; again Party batteries which offers the same functionality but allows for a social listening experience for up to four players within the game.

Warner Music and STYNGR, in a press release on Monday (June 17), said the partnership creates new sources of income for artists and songwriters, allowing them to connect with new audiences and engage existing fans in the popular platform.

Additionally, Roblox developers get access to additional monetization tools for their share of battery sales. STYNGR data suggests that music integration can also improve the user experience by increasing playtime, player engagement, and overall retention.

This partnership expands on the existing partnership between STYNGR and Warner Music, which was established in March 2022. At the time, STYNGR gave game developers access to pre-licensed tracks from the Warner Music catalog, allowing them to function as customized radio stations and music-based character enhancements. .

Batteries started to launch a wider network, including Super League Entertainment and the likes of Roblox Paradise RP, Mega Obbyagain Miraculous Insects.

This latest development follows the launch of Boombox in March 2024, a partnership between STYNGR, Universal Music Group, and Republic Records. Boombox works as an ad-supported music player embedded within Roblox, allowing labels to launch and curate gamified playlists.

STYNGR acts as a bridge between the music and gaming industries, providing pre-cleared music to game developers. Apart from Warner Music and Universal Music, the company also has collaborations with them Capitol Music Group subsidiary company Motown Recordsand a pan-European licensing hub ICE services.
